Luxe sportswear in the Arctic is the message Christopher Raeburn was trying to get across and he definitely succeeded in that respect.
Big furry but still elegant coats, merino wool knitwear featured for the first time ever, polar-bear jumpers and trompe l’œil patterns are just some of the outfits worn by the modern arctic explorers.
The prints are inspired by 1930s Russian illustrations featuring mountains of ice and mystical lights.
The luxurious outerwear is inspired by Siberian’s officers heavy coats and are given a modern Arctic makeover. Luxurious outerwear is inspired by Siberian’s officers heavy coats and are given a modern touch. Premium synthetic fur is used for the first time in outerwear and raglan sweaters.
Sustainability and chicness are his key points through the method of up-cycling; where scraps of fabric are being re-used to create high-end fabrics and it says a lot about Raeburn's beliefs. The faux-fur gilet below is the end result of this process.
The colour palette of neutrals; grey, navy and green is juxtaposed by warm orange used in outerwear and separates and the black beanies wrap it all up.
