Fashion photographer Hannah Van der Haeghen and stylist Annet Veerbeek teamed up for the latest DESIGN SCENE STYLE exclusive story titled 80s Fashion Icons. Stars of the session are Mierijn Blokzijl as David Bowie, Michèle Kalipe at Flag Models as Grace Jones, Zakaria Qichouh at Offf Models as Prince, Joy Boetekees as Madonna, Leonie De Ripainsel at Dominique Models as Princess Diana. Beauty is work of hair stylist Joeri Rouffa, and makeup artist Dorothy Vandemaele.

Culture and society have always been entwined and have always influenced each other. What we consider as normal, strange, shocking or beautiful, is closely connected to the era in which we live and the way we think. Each important movement (the Old Age, Enlightenment, Renaissance…) passes on its vision to the next generation.

Hannah’s fascination and respect for the music, characters and style of the eighties was the starting point of her series ‘80s Fashion Icons‘.
