Designer Bruno Sialelli presented LANVIN‘s Spring Summer 2021 Collection, that celebrates both Chinese and French culture, and their shared desire for the luxury and the uniqueness, on Saturday October 17th, in Shanghai. The collection also explores brand’s heritage.

“Jeanne Lanvin’s signature robe de style – a breathtaking romantic hooped dress, itself originally inspired by the silhouettes of the 18th century – is a foundational silhouette. Anchoring the house to its heritage, the volume of the robe de style is recontextualised in tailoring and soft coats. Always connecting Lanvin to the idea of youth, the robe de style traces silhouettes expressive of the Lanvin logo, la Femme et l’Enfant, and the illustrations of Georges Lepape of these characters in different situation. For Spring/Summer 2021, Bruno Sialelli rediscovers these emblematic styles of the house – they become personae, heroes and heroines in a new representation of Lanvin for tomorrow.
Silhouettes and fabrics are sensual, draped against the body for him and her. Women’s dresses drape gently across the body, sometimes weighted with chain-mail, another archival nod to Jeanne Lanvin’s limitless innovation. Designs again reference Wen goldfish, embroidered or woven in fils-coupe silk-velvet.
