Discover VICTOR GLEMAUD Fall Winter 2021.22 Ode to Hope Collection, that explores designer’s passion for innovation and eye for design, presented on Monday, February 15th, as part of the ongoing New York Fashion Week. The collection reimages and reinterprets knitwear looks in a modern and dynamic way. Fashion photographer Jason Thomas Geering captured the lookbook featuring Resnya Reneé, Enga, and Nicole. Beauty is work of hair stylist Naeemah Lafond, and makeup artist Eric Polito.
“Having established a strong presence in the world of knitwear, Glemaud wanted to push the technical aspects of the fabric. This season he developed a patchwork knit jacquard designed as a single piece with no linking. Another group, made of knit pinstripe fabricated in cotton cashmere and recycled rayon stripe, brings a sartorial versatility to knitwear. The creative hand that went into design and construction of each of the pieces pushed the norms of the traditional – making the collection tactile yet graphic.
The knitwear seen throughout the collection consists of a mixture of natural yarns – merino wool and cotton cashmere. The inspiration this season was New York, the yellow cabs and the chain-link fences that can be seen throughout the city. Also, while attending the March on Washington in August last year, Glemaud snapped a picture of a woman with long beaded braids and a bright yellow graphic t-shirt, which reinforced the collections color and patter” – from Victor Glemaud
