British fashion house Alexander McQueen unveiled its Spring Summer 2024 Men’s Collection, that introduces a refined simplicity centered on cut, proportion, and silhouette. The collection explores anatomy, and brings softer, more molded, and curved shapes. Traditional wools are exquisitely crafted with rounded or sharply pointed shoulders that highlight a narrow waist. Overcoats, trench coats, parkas, leathers, denim, shirts, and shorts with utility details are worn with knee boots.
SPRING SUMMER 2024 COLLECTIONS
The apparently seamless knotting of garments around the body is one of the collection’s distinguishing qualities, providing a sense of intrigue and craftsmanship. The designs also pay tribute to the brand’s archive heritage, with ceremonial stitching and soft appliquéd elements influenced by previous McQueen works. There are also three-dimensional hand-crocheted knits and chiaroscuro flowers inspired by Dutch Old Master paintings in the collection.
An abstract fold print created in collaboration with long-time McQueen partner Simon Ungless takes center stage, with jacquards and embroideries delicately wrapping around the body, representing the essence of human anatomy.
