Fashion brand CHARLES DE VILMORIN unveiled its Fall Winter 2023.24 Haute Couture Collection on July 3rd, during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. The collection navigates a difficult route defined by three separate phases, including unprocessed denim, brilliant peacock green satin taffeta, bits of beautifully beaded fringe, a conflict between large and draped garments, purposeful wrinkles, unfinished edges, and precise tailoring.
Huge armor-like cloaks coexist with delicate dresses that caress the skin as if kissed by the wind. Bomber jackets featuring tattooed eyes and mouths. Sleeves that appear to go on forever. The eye forms, distorts, and reforms. Totemic masks, jagged silhouettes, and garments merged together. Asymmetrical lines are dominant.
The collection’s primary goal is to elicit emotion rather than get approval. A white, red, and black color scheme. The battle between the strength of the horse and the grace of the swan. Momentum and apprehension. In the middle of expectation, there is freedom. This was Charles de Vilmorin’s inaugural fashion show, and he poured his heart and soul into every aspect, from start to finish.
