Behind the scenes at M/SA Spring Summer 2026 show, a sense of clarity and purpose shaped every look, fitting, and final touch. Photographer Sohom Das documented the energy exclusively for DSCENE Magazine, capturing moments before Sakina M’sa returned to the Paris runway with a new brand and a precise direction.
BACKSTAGE
The show, titled THE PURE: A First Spring Summer 2026 Collection, unfolded at the Carreau du Temple in Paris. M/SA, short for Makers of Sustainable Aesthetics, marks M’sa’s new chapter in fashion. With this label, she brings a refined and radical interpretation of responsible design. Each garment holds a purpose, structured from reclaimed materials and shaped by human hands through an approach rooted in both craft and care.

Backstage, models wore garments built from 80% dormant fabrics, reactivated through construction and detail. The collection carries chevrons, stripes, and patterns pulled from the traditional Comoros chiromani, creating a visual language that connects material reuse with cultural memory. There’s no excess in the cuts or styling, everything moves with intention. The team readied each look with quiet focus, preparing pieces that don’t begin with a blank canvas but extend from what came before.
Sakina M’sa worked with individuals engaged in professional reintegration to create this collection. Their participation in the making process adds depth beyond aesthetics. In this framework, the act of fashion production gains social impact, reinforcing the idea that beauty and responsibility can share the same space. The backstage atmosphere reflected that philosophy. Tailors, stylists, and models interacted with care, underscoring a sense of shared investment.

THE PURE doesn’t follow seasonal trends or chase spectacle. M’sa’s designs hold their form through cut and structure. Her garments carry forward histories of fabric and labor, recontextualized for what she calls a “cool street-couture.” The silhouettes feel clear and controlled. Strong lines and textured layers shape pieces meant to age well. As the cast moved toward the show space, everything settled into rhythm. No one rushed. The garments arrived with purpose, and the models followed suit.
