Nike brings back the Sprint Sister, a women’s track shoe first released in 1979, with an updated low-profile design that maintains a light and precise shape. The new version keeps the original’s athletic foundation while refining its proportions for current use. The silhouette sits close to the ground, giving the shoe a clear sense of control and direction through its structure.

The upper uses a combination of canvas and suede. Nike applies a Ridgerock color across most of the shoe, creating a consistent surface that carries through each panel. A Sail white Swoosh moves across the side panels, cutting through the darker base with a clear contrast. Nike adds perforated ditsy patterns within the Swoosh, introducing texture that shifts depending on light and angle.

The outsole wraps around the base, extending slightly over the heel and toe. This construction follows the Ridgerock tone used across the upper, keeping the design consistent from top to bottom. The extended rubber provides added protection in high-contact areas, supporting the shoe’s function while maintaining a unified appearance. The sole structure stays grounded and stable, reinforcing the shoe’s original purpose as a track model.

Nike introduces double-lacing as a key update in this version of the Sprint Sister. Each shoe includes two sets of laces in different colors, drawn from a palette that includes Ocean Cube, Dark Cinder, Sail, and Soft Pink. This addition gives the wearer the option to adjust the look through simple changes, creating variation without altering the structure of the shoe.

This update connects the Sprint Sister’s original track identity with a softer, more expressive direction. The color choices and material selection work together to maintain balance across the shoe. Nike’s approach with this release keeps the structure intact while introducing focused changes that shift how the shoe reads today.
