Jordan Brand returns to one of the rarer stories in its archive with the Air Jordan 1 Low OG Laser, arriving August 22 in Black, Varsity Red and Summit White. The new release takes its inspiration from a one-of-one Air Jordan 3 that Jordan Brand gave Michael Jordan for his 40th birthday in 2003, translating its laser-engraved treatment onto the low-top AJ1 silhouette 23 years later.

The original Air Jordan 3 Laser carried laser-etched illustrations throughout its upper, with imagery tied to Jordan’s life, personal interests and basketball career. Jordan Brand created that pair specifically for Jordan’s birthday, and its extremely limited status kept it largely outside traditional retail sneaker history. The 2026 Air Jordan 1 Low OG draws directly from that design language while using a black leather construction.
Detailed illustrations cover large sections of the AJ1 Low’s upper. Nike describes the graphics as references to Michael Jordan’s life, interests and playing career. The dark leather gives those engraved details a tonal appearance, while Varsity Red and Summit White introduce recognizable Jordan color cues. Additional details reference the color treatment of the original 2003 AJ3.
The release also arrives during a significant return for the Laser concept itself. Jordan Brand will release an Air Jordan 3 Laser on August 22, bringing the story behind the 2003 birthday shoe directly to a retail AJ3 for the first time. That edition uses a Phantom and Sail palette, premium leather and suede, along with laser engraving throughout the upper and engraved Nike Air branding at the heel.
Underneath the engraved treatment, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG Laser retains familiar AJ1 construction. Nike uses genuine leather through the upper and adds an encapsulated Air-Sole unit for cushioning. A foam midsole supports the shoe underfoot, while a solid rubber outsole supplies traction.
Nike lists the adult pair at $165, while the Big Kids version costs $120. Both editions arrive through SNKRS on August 22.
