On February 27th, 2024, amid the prestigious Paris Fashion Week, Victoria Feldman and Tomas Berzins unveiled their much-anticipated Fall Winter 2024-2025 Womenswear Collection titled “Le Baiser” (The Kiss) – a poignant tribute to passion and protection, drawing inspiration from Rodin’s iconic sculpture of the same name.
Drawing from Rodin’s technique of assembling independent elements to create a new narrative, the designers integrated this concept into their collection through innovative garment construction. Heavy scarfs, coats, and cardigans were artfully wrapped around the neck, evoking a cozy Parisian aesthetic while paying homage to the sculptural elements of Rodin’s work. Cropped shirts, marinières, and mini skirts were reimagined to embrace the body with a newfound sense of intimacy, imbuing the silhouette with a sensual yet fragile allure.
A highlight of the collection was the bold reintroduction of leather pieces, a category first showcased at the Festival d’Hyères a decade ago. These leather garments made a striking statement, infusing the collection with a contemporary edge while staying true to the theme of passion and protection. Overall, Victoria Feldman and Tomas Berzins masterfully captured the essence of Rodin’s sculpture, translating its timeless themes into a modern, sophisticated collection that celebrates both the strength and vulnerability of the feminine spirit.
