Woolrich, the iconic American outdoor brand, has joined forces with Todd Snyder, the distinguished menswear designer, to present their debut Black Label Collection. This collaboration blends Woolrich’s rich legacy with Snyder’s contemporary and timeless style. Unveiled at the prestigious Pitti Uomo 105 in Florence and also presented at the Woolrich Showroom in Milan, the collection redefines outdoor-inspired fashion for the modern gentleman.
The Black Label Collection is divided into two distinct lines: Heritage and Technical. The Heritage line pays homage to Woolrich’s 190-year history by offering sophisticated reinterpretations of its iconic pieces. One such highlight is the revamped Woolrich Arctic Parka, a garment once donned by Admiral Richard E. Byrd during his Antarctic expeditions. The collection also features classic styles like the Buffalo Check Shirt, now elevated in luxurious cashmere.
Snyder’s creative genius shines through in the Heritage line with reinvented classics tailored for today. The Military Trench, lined with merino shearling and crafted from creamy white leather, epitomizes modern luxury. Meanwhile, traditional garments like the fisherman’s sweater undergo a contemporary transformation, as seen in the Marled Cable Knit with a protective cowl neck.
Plaids, a staple of Woolrich’s heritage, take on a fresh allure in the Heritage line, adorning Cashmere Overshirts and accessories. Base layers receive a luxe upgrade in Italian cashmere, ensuring both style and functionality. Snyder’s vision for the collection is clear: “It felt very fresh to start with rugged outdoor styles and then refresh them in more modern silhouettes and luxurious fabrics.“
On the other hand, the Technical line merges high-performance materials with Snyder’s signature sartorial flair. Designed to meet the demands of outdoor lovers and urbanites alike, this collection offers cutting-edge designs without compromising on style. Stand out pieces include The Birch Parka, featuring a mesmerizing drip-dyed nylon exterior reminiscent of a birch forest, and The Ripstop Parka, a lightweight yet warm puffer jacket finished in Bright Olive.
For footwear, the Technical line introduces Alpine Boots, fusing functionality with luxury through shearling interiors and premium exteriors. Snyder emphasizes, “The more I’ve worked on the Technical line, the more I’ve been excited about designing clothing that can handle the demands of the great outdoors and be the statement pieces in a city wardrobe.“
The Black Label Collection will hit Woolrich stores worldwide and Todd Snyder outlets across the United States come fall 2024.
