Paloma Elsesser, a long-standing member of the Marni family, shares her enthusiasm about the collection’s inclusive vision and creative expression. She remarks, “This collection captures the joy that summer brings: a delightful blend of sweat, sweetness, and surrender. I am thrilled to share this with the world.” The collection’s extension up to size 56* is a significant milestone in Marni’s journey towards inclusivity, highlighting their commitment to celebrating beauty in all forms.
Alake Shilling‘s lively depictions of flora and fauna embellish items designed to embrace various body shapes, infused with Marni’s signature playfulness. The collection features elements like cut-outs, flounces, and see-through crochet that allow glimpses of skin. Front-open dresses, bra tops, swimsuits, and towels evoke beachy fun, while straight-cut shirt jackets and slender coats offer a structured contrast. Bomber jackets, blouses, and full skirts float and flow.
Emphasizing sustainability, the collection incorporates organic and low-impact materials. Organic cotton is featured in super light muslin, toile, stretch poplin, jersey, gabardine, and stretch denim. Crochet items are made from mercerized organic cotton, while flax, a historically low-impact natural fiber, is used in crisp woven linen and knitwear. Responsibly sourced viscose and recycled lycra and nylon for swimwear further highlight Marni’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. Innovative uses of alternative materials, such as Corozo buttons and recycled polyester zippers, demonstrate the brand’s dedication to reducing environmental impact.
