TOMBOGO returned to New York Fashion Week on September 6th, 2024, with a highly anticipated runway show titled “Reverse Engineering.” After making waves at Paris Fashion Week last year, the brand, led by Tommy Bogo, brought its signature combinationof functional, sustainable, and experimental design back to the Big Apple. The showcase at NeueHouse Madison Square offered a rare behind-the-scenes look into the deconstruction and evolution of the brand’s innovative approach to modular fashion.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection featured 27 gender-inclusive looks, underscoring TOMBOGO’s continued exploration of modularity and versatility. With a focus on customizable pieces, the collection integrated detachable elements for personalized styling. Vegan pineapple leather was showcased alongside more traditional materials like genuine leather and waffle thermals. Reimagined silhouettes introduced a baggier, curved fit, with outerwear pieces like bomber jackets and trench coats leading the charge. The collection also featured TOMBOGO’s new tabi mules, convertible handbags, and ventilated hats, expanding the brand’s range of hyper-modular concepts.
TOMBOGO took a technological leap forward with its collaboration with Legitimate Tech. Each guest received branded measuring tapes embedded with Legitimate NFC Tags, allowing access to show notes, post-show content, and exclusive digital experiences. These same tags were integrated into the footwear, unlocking exclusive content for buyers once the shoes are released. By incorporating this cutting-edge technology, TOMBOGO redefined how designers interact with their audience, adding value to the experience both during and after the runway presentation.
The multi-sensory show was further elevated by the debut of Tommy Bogo’s first musical venture. Bogo’s original track, “Another Time,” premiered during the runway presentation, adding an emotional layer to the event. The music, which reflected Bogo’s personal journey and the emotions behind his designs, gave attendees a deeper connection to the creative energy driving TOMBOGO. The track, now available on streaming platforms, was released in collaboration with ABVGRND, Kehlani’s management team.
Tommy Bogo expressed his vision behind “Reverse Engineering,” stating, “We wanted to do more than just showcase fashion — we wanted to take the audience inside the creative process itself. Each piece in this collection represents the intersection of functionality, creativity, and sustainability. By deconstructing our process live on the runway, we offered an experience that allowed our audience to engage with TOMBOGO in a completely new way.”
As TOMBOGO continues to push the boundaries of what fashion can be, “Reverse Engineering” highlighted the brand’s commitment to innovation. With the combination of modular fashion, technological advancements, and Bogo’s personal artistic expression, the Spring/Summer 2025 collection further solidified TOMBOGO’s reputation as a forward-thinking, boundary-pushing label.
