Alberta Ferretti Appoints Lorenzo Serafini as New Creative Director

Lorenzo Serafini takes the helm of Alberta Ferretti as its new creative director, marking a fresh chapter for the luxury brand.

Lorenzo Serafini has officially been named the new creative director of AEFFE-owned Alberta Ferretti, succeeding the brand’s founder, who stepped down last month. Serafini, known for his work with Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini since 2014, will make his debut for Alberta Ferretti with the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection in February 2025.

The transition brings an end to Philosophy as a standalone brand, with AEFFE announcing that it will be merged into Alberta Ferretti starting in Fall 2025. The consolidation is part of the group’s strategy to align with “the needs of the current market” and strengthen the Alberta Ferretti brand’s positioning for the future.

“I am thrilled to announce that Lorenzo will be my successor at the helm of the brand that bears my name. With the fashion world undergoing tremendous change, I strongly believe that Lorenzo has the creativity, strong aesthetic sense, professionalism and expertise required to meet this challenge,” says Alberta Ferretti. “A decade ago, I entrusted Lorenzo with the Philosophy line which he successfully developed into a thriving brand. Now it is time for him to write a new chapter for the Alberta Ferretti brand, whose essence aligns beautifully with his vision. Lightness, femininity, sensuality are words already within Lorenzo’s vocabulary, and words he will be able to wonderfully define within the world of Alberta Ferretti.” she added. Though stepping away from her namesake brand, she will remain Vice President of AEFFE, continuing her influence on the group.

Before joining Philosophy, Serafini had an extensive career, leading womenswear design at Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana. His success at Philosophy, originally founded by Alberta Ferretti in 1984, earned him the trust to oversee its transition into the Alberta Ferretti label.

“I am honored that Alberta has chosen me to carry forward such a prestigious legacy,” Serafini said. “I will take on this new role with care as I begin the next chapter for the Alberta Ferretti brand.”

This shift marks a significant step in Alberta Ferretti’s evolution, signaling a new era for the luxury brand under Serafini’s creative vision.
