MM6 Maison Margiela and Dr. Martens reconnect for a new capsule collection that revisits core designs with a shift in tone and form. This second joint project between the Paris-based label and the British footwear company focuses on the 1460 boot, 1461 shoe, and Penton loafer. Each silhouette undergoes structural transformation through MM6’s signature design language, with an all-white finish that references the SS25 show and MM6’s recurring visual cues.
SHOES
The capsule introduces two hybrid models. The first combines elements of the classic 1460 boot and the 1461 shoe. It features the upper height and lace structure of the 8-eye 1460, fused with proportions pulled from the 1461. Designers have added a bump toe, embossed MM6 numeric artwork on the shaft, and a white AirWair heel loop unique to this release.

The second model works with the framework of a 1461 and the shape of the Penton loafer. MM6 uses a lace-up design and reshapes it with loafer-like construction. This structure offers a slip-on effect while retaining the lines of a classic oxford, building what resembles a shoe inside another shoe.
Both styles come in monochromatic white, using Smooth and Virginia leathers. The capsule keeps tonal welt stitching and includes Dr. Martens’ recognizable bouncing sole. The white finish connects back to MM6’s use of paint-dripped footwear in its SS25 collection, extending that approach into this retail release.
Designers avoided unnecessary additions and focused on contrast through fabrication and silhouette. The decision to remove all color emphasizes form and textural detail, while MM6’s design codes remain legible through minimal but pointed changes. The heel loop, embossing, and softened toe bump add dimension without veering far from the source material.

Dr. Martens and MM6 previously worked together, but this drop brings more direct references to MM6’s seasonal output. It also strips down the usual industrial palette of Dr. Martens in favor of a clinical finish, testing how familiar footwear can respond to complete desaturation.
