Timberland introduced its global campaign Advice of an Icon for FW25, placing the Original Yellow Boot™ at the center of a story about strength, resilience, and authenticity. For more than five decades, the boot has served as a cultural marker, and this new campaign amplifies its meaning through the perspectives of three figures: Spike Lee, Skepta, and Kiko Mizuhara.
Director and photographer Gabriel Moses shaped the campaign visuals. Known for his rich color palettes and emotive style, he brought narrative depth and atmosphere to every frame. His portraits of the icons carry both intimacy and presence, reinforcing the personal tone of the project.

Spike Lee took part with the same uncompromising energy that has defined his film career. The campaign presents him in a set of direct portraits that echo his fearless approach to storytelling. Lee emphasized discipline in his advice: “You have to have a work ethic. You gotta put the work in. You can’t cheat that, if you’re cheating, you’re cheating yourself.” His words reflect the values that connect his decades of influence with the endurance of Timberland’s design.

Skepta represents another voice in the campaign. Known globally for his music and impact on fashion and culture, he returned for a second project with Timberland. Wearing the Original Yellow Boot™, Skepta underscored conviction and resilience as necessary for success. “There was never another option for me apart from success,” he explained. His reflections also centered on responsibility: “People need to remember community. Get back to that idea of doing it for the people around you.” His words placed ambition alongside accountability, expanding the meaning of what it takes to stand as an icon.

Kiko Mizuhara completed the trio. Her career, marked by innovation and personal expression, resonated with the campaign’s themes. Speaking about her path, she said: “I kept going. I kept doing what I liked. Sometimes there were challenges, and I failed. It’s because I stayed true to who I am. That’s why I’m here. And I will never apologize for who I am.” Moses captured her presence with imagery that held both strength and vulnerability, adding another layer to the story of the Yellow Boot.

Maisie Willoughby, Timberland’s Chief Marketing Officer, summarized the intent of the project: “The Advice of an Icon campaign is a bold tribute to unapologetic self-expression and timeless craft. At its core is the Original Yellow Boot, a global icon that has shaped style, work, and street culture for over 50 years. This campaign honours where we’ve been and signals where we’re going, as we continue to explore and redefine what it means to be truly iconic.”
The Original Yellow Boot™ continues to stand as Timberland’s most recognizable design, known for its wheat color, construction, and comfort. The collection is available in men’s, women’s, and kids’ sizes at Timberland stores and through wholesale partners.
