Fashion house Mulberry reintroduces the Roxanne with Cynthia Erivo, the Academy Award–nominated and Emmy, Grammy, and Tony-winning actor, musician, and producer, as the face of its new campaign. The house spotlights a bag that first gained cult status in 2004 and became a favorite of Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, and Mary-Kate Olsen. For 2025, Mulberry expands the design into four versions, presenting a full family that bridges its early character with contemporary needs. Fashion photographer Tim Walker captured the campaign, with styling from Kate Phelan.
The Roxanne and the Small Roxanne echo the original while refining its shape for today. Both retain the punky Y2K spirit through brass buckles and sharp lines, offered in two sizes for versatility. Each design can be worn crossbody or on the shoulder, and every bag is composed of 44 individual pattern pieces, crafted by Mulberry’s skilled artisans.

The Roxanne Shoulder Bag and the Mini Roxanne Shoulder Bag deliver lighter, more adaptable silhouettes designed with contemporary living in mind. The Mini Roxanne Shoulder Bag preserves key elements from the 2004 version, such as functional brass buckles on its front pockets, Mulberry tree rivets, and a combination of internal and external compartments for essentials.
Walker’s imagery places Wicked actress in a surreal setting filled with swings, carpets, and oversized fireplaces. The playful staging creates a dreamlike mood, casting the Roxanne family as part of a theatrical Mulberry Spirit.
The launch extends into a video project titled Mulberry Moments, where Erivo joins journalist Recho Omondi for a series of eight films. Through their conversations, Erivo reflects on growing up in London, her first Mulberry, and her belief that fashion, like music and acting, carries emotional weight. The films provide a personal layer and add intimacy to the campaign.

Erivo describes the partnership as a return to something long imagined. She recalls wanting a Mulberry while growing up in London and now sees the project as a full-circle moment. She connects the Roxanne’s rebellious and romantic character with her own style, emphasizing self-expression and creative collaboration. For her, Mulberry represents craft, community, and a vision that encourages individuality.
Sustainability frames the collection’s release. After receiving B Corp Certification in 2024, Mulberry commits to sourcing 100% of its leather from environmentally accredited tanneries. The Roxanne family is available now, with prices starting at £795.
