Vaquera introduces its Spring Summer 2026 collection with a message rooted in joy. The designers reflect on why they continue to push the brand forward after many years and always return to the same answer: joy drives the work. For them, fashion is a tool that brings energy to the wearer and those around them. In their eyes, fantasy and joy are not trivial during chaotic times but a means of endurance. Looking back at the theatricality of their early shows, they pulled that energy into the new season, letting it inform the shapes, ideas, and attitude of SS26.
Wearability also shaped the collection. Vaquera has built a reputation on challenging commercial codes, but the team finds that their most exciting ideas often become their strongest sellers. They cite the Giant Bra from last season as an example. Designed originally as a dramatic piece for the runway, it sold out quickly online and encouraged the designers to fill this season with clothing that bridges spectacle and everyday use.

The designers frame the new collection around the tension between “good taste” and “bad taste.” Moving to Paris this summer sharpened this idea. Long recognized as a global center of “good taste,” the city pushed Vaquera to consider what those labels actually mean. Through their perspective, those categories disappear. For the Vaquera girl, the most powerful choice is to wear what feels unexpected, the so-called wrong thing at the exact right time.

On the runway, Vaquera also expanded its presence through collaboration. The brand unveiled a Nike partnership, debuting a Nike Air Max Dn8 collaboration directly on the SS26 catwalk. While full details remain under wraps, the pairing signals a crossover between Vaquera’s theatrical energy and Nike’s performance-driven identity. The collection also included two complete looks from the Vaquera × Moussy capsule titled “PARIS SYNDROME.” Launching during Paris Fashion Week, the capsule consists of 16 items and will be available in Japan, China, and the United States starting February 2026.
By pairing fantasy with functionality and layering collaborations with personal reflection, Vaquera used its SS26 show to affirm the place of joy in fashion. The season underscores the designers’ belief that fashion thrives when it entertains, disrupts, and ultimately allows people to persevere.
