CNCPTS launches a new collaboration with New Balance through the Gator Run, a sneaker defined by instinct, patience, and controlled force. Inspired by the alligator and its measured presence, the design frames movement as deliberate. The Gator Run draws from the animal’s dual nature, where stillness and sudden intensity coexist, translating that idea into form, material, and styling.

The silhouette references familiar athletic footwear while shifting proportion and surface treatment. Sport-rooted structure guides the shape, yet the execution leans into eccentricity through texture and finish. The upper arrives in glossy cherry red alligator skin, giving the shoe a tactile identity that feels distinct and considered.

White laces and a matching New Balance logo on the tongue cut through the deep red upper, creating visual contrast without distraction. Beneath, a black sole inspired by running shoes grounds the sneaker, delivering traction and stability while reinforcing its athletic origin. The sole’s shape and finish add a subtle vintage reference without overpowering the overall composition.

The campaign extends this idea through an editorial approach set in a tropical environment that mirrors the sneaker’s source of inspiration. Lush greenery and dense textures establish a setting that feels humid, layered, and alive. The choice of location reinforces the sneaker’s origin story while keeping focus on form and color. Artist Brittany Byrd fronts the campaign, styled in deep green tones that echo the surrounding foliage.

The sneaker exists between categories, drawing from New Balance’s performance DNA while moving decisively into fashion territory. Athletic cues remain present, yet CNCPTS reshapes them through altered lines and unexpected texture.

The New Balance Gator Run “Shadow Red” releases exclusively through CNCPTS. The sneaker will be available for purchase online starting on January 16. The limited release reinforces the focused nature of the project, positioning the Gator Run as a deliberate entry within CNCPTS’ ongoing collaborations.
