Series creator Darren Star confirmed that development for Season 6 has already begun. Speaking at a press conference in December, Star explained that the series keeps Paris as its base while allowing room for short-term settings elsewhere when the story supports it. He described the idea of taking the audience to other places as something he enjoys considering, while stressing that the show will stay rooted in its Parisian setting.
The renewal follows the strong performance of Season 5, which debuted with 10 episodes. That season tracked Emily’s work assignment in Rome, where she handled the launch of a new Agence Grateau office while entering a relationship with Italian fashion heir Marcello Muratori, played by Eugenio Franceschini. The storyline placed Emily between her growing ties to Italy and her established career and relationships in France.

Audience response matched the scale of the release. Season 5 reached 26.8 million views worldwide within 11 days, ranking as the top TV series in 24 countries, including France, Italy, Brazil, and Germany. The season also reached the Top 10 charts in 91 countries. The ongoing popularity of the series, which centers on Emily, her closest friend Mindy Chen, and their circle, recently earned Darren Star France’s highest civilian distinction, the chevalier de la Légion d’honneur.
Season 5 concluded in Venice during Marcello’s solo fashion debut. His success led to approval from his mother Antonia, portrayed by Anna Galiena, and an offer to take full control of the Muratori family’s cashmere business. Marcello invited Emily to join the company, but she declined, choosing to remain focused on her career in Paris. Their relationship ended again as a result.
Meanwhile, Mindy Chen, played by Ashley Park, accepted a proposal from Nicolas de Léon, portrayed by Paul Forman, despite Alfie’s objections. Alfie, played by Lucien Laviscount, directly warned Mindy that the engagement was a mistake. Elsewhere, Gabriel resurfaced with an unexpected invitation, asking Emily to join him on a yacht during a planned stay in Greece.
Season 6 is scheduled to arrive in 2026. The next chapter will pick up after these unresolved choices, with Paris once again shaping Emily’s professional ambitions and personal decisions.
