Chopra Jonas stars as Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, a skilled ex-pirate who has rebuilt her life in the Cayman Islands. Ercell lives in relative calm with her husband T.H., played by Ismael Cruz Córdova, their son Isaac, and her sister-in-law Elizabeth, portrayed by Safia Oakley-Green. That stability collapses when her former captain Connor, played by Urban, arrives with revenge on his mind.

The story places Ercell in direct conflict with the life she tried to abandon. Connor’s presence triggers a chain of events that leaves no room for avoidance. Ercell relies on sword skills, improvised traps, and tactical thinking to defend her family against a merciless crew.
Directed by Frank E. Flowers, who co-wrote the script with Joe Ballarini, The Bluff unfolds as a period thriller shaped by physical confrontation and psychological pressure. Flowers situates the story in the Cayman Islands, using real locations such as Skull Cave and the island’s towering cliffs to heighten tension and scale.

The film is produced by AGBO, with Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, and Angela Russo-Otstot serving as producers alongside Michael Disco, Cisely Saldaña, Mariel Saldaña, and Chopra Jonas herself. Executive producers include Ballarini, Flowers, Kassee Whiting, Ari Costa, Chris Castaldi, Nick Van Dyk, Thorsten Schumacher, Sarah Halley Finn, and Zoe Saldaña.
The supporting cast includes Temuera Morrison, adding further weight to a story driven by confrontation and survival. Across its running time, The Bluff maintains focus on Ercell’s effort to protect her family while reckoning with the identity she once carried. The film frames survival as an active process shaped by choice, skill, and resolve, setting the stage for a tense and direct viewing experience when it premieres globally on Prime Video.
