Chet Lo returns to London Fashion Week after a one-season hiatus with his Fall Winter 2026 collection, titled Night Market. He draws inspiration from Hong Kong’s evening bazaars and presents the collection at the Mandarin Oriental in London. The setting links his place of origin with his current base, creating a dialogue between memory and present practice. Lo marks a shift in approach, transitioning from proving identity toward hosting it.
FALL WINTER 2026 WOMENSWEAR
In Hong Kong, the night market operates as a gathering point after long workdays. Neon lights flicker at dusk, steam rises from food stalls, and crowds press shoulder to shoulder. Labour and leisure share the same ground. Strangers pass in close proximity, and community forms through shared presence. Lo channels this atmosphere into the collection, treating the market as a site of collective exchange.

Since founding his brand, Lo has established a distinct design language. Merino wool spikes oscillate between armour and caress. Second-skin knits balance romance with restraint. These textures define boundaries while maintaining softness. With these codes firmly in place, Night Market opens outward. The collection asserts visibility and public presence, confronting Western stereotypes that frame Asians as submissive or unseen.
The palette includes black, green, crimson, and charcoal. These tones recall neon cutting through darkness, steam rising, and shadows between bodies. Feathered eyewear references Peking opera and Chinese theatrical tradition, where adornment signals status and vitality. The frames conceal part of the eye, mediating desire and protection. Performers historically animate feathers through specialised head movements during climactic moments, and Lo incorporates this reference into the collection’s visual language.
Umbrellas function as both literal object and emotional marker. Lo draws from a personal memory of sheltering with his partner beneath an umbrella at a local market during a storm. This image informs the season’s architecture, grounding the collection in lived experience.

Night Market extends beyond the runway through a network of stalls hosted by makers across the Asian diaspora. Designers, artists, jewellers, and photographers present their work and share their stories, transforming the show into a communal gathering.
Lo partners with the Asian People’s Disability Alliance to foreground access and visibility within Asian communities. Red Flagged addresses safeguarding in creative and cultural spaces, linking recognition with accountability. Hair & Care CIC, a Hackney-based non-profit founded by hairstylist Anna Cofone, collaborates on accessibility initiatives. Through its Making Fashion Accessible programme, launched in 2024, the organisation works with designers across London and Copenhagen Fashion Weeks to support blind and low vision audiences. For AW26, Hair & Care teams with Philips Sound to provide high-quality headphones for audio description during the runway. Authentic Beauty Concept supports the initiative by gifting its Replenish range, which features braille and NaviLens packaging.
