Courrèges Announces Drew Henry as Artistic Director

The designer steps in this May and will debut his first collection in Paris this September.

Courrèges has named Drew Henry as its new artistic director, just days after confirming the departure of Nicolas Di Felice. Henry will assume the role in May 2026 and present his first runway collection during Paris Fashion Week in September.

The brand confirmed its separation from Di Felice last week, ending a five-year collaboration. During his tenure, the Belgian designer reactivated Courrèges and reintroduced its Space Age identity to a new audience. The label operates under Artémis, the holding company of the Pinault family.

In an official statement, Courrèges described Henry’s arrival as a step that strengthens its current trajectory and opens a new phase for the house. François-Henri Pinault, chairman of Artémis, emphasized Henry’s direction and experience, stating that his understanding of the current fashion environment positions him to guide the brand forward.

Henry brings a background shaped by close work with Phoebe Philo. He began his career at Celine during her tenure, later taking on the role of head of ready-to-wear at JW Anderson in 2018. In 2020, he rejoined Philo as head of design for the launch of her namesake label. Since 2023, he has held the position of senior design director at Burberry.

Speaking on his appointment, Henry referenced the founding principles of André Courrèges, pointing to a focus on clothes that respond to how people live. He expressed an interest in design that feels modern, useful, and direct, while acknowledging the responsibility of working within an established maison. He stated his intention to respect the house’s history while introducing his own perspective.

Drew Henry, 38, was born in Mpumalanga, South Africa. He studied at LISOF in Johannesburg before completing a master’s degree in fashion at Central Saint Martins in London.

Marie Leblanc, CEO of Courrèges, described Henry as a strong fit for the brand, citing his creative direction and contemporary approach. She noted that the house plans to expand its international presence and strengthen its position globally while maintaining its French identity.

With his debut scheduled for September, attention now turns to how Henry will define his approach within Courrèges. The upcoming collection will mark the first clear indication of his direction as he steps into the role during a period of continued development for the brand.
