Patta and Nike continue their Air Max partnership with a new version of the Air Max 1 from the “Waves” series. The collaboration has developed a strong presence within Nike’s Air Max catalog, and the next release introduces a clean “White Hyper Crimson” colorway. Official images now reveal the second colorway following the debut of a bolder version earlier this month. The new pair presents a lighter composition that places emphasis on subtle color placement and the defining structural elements of the design.

The design continues the visual language established by earlier Patta Air Max projects. The Amsterdam-based label applies its signature wavy mudguard, a detail that has become closely associated with the collaboration. In this version the mudguard appears in crisp white leather, creating a defined border that separates the lower overlays from the rest of the upper. This element shapes the identity of the “Waves” series and remains the most recognizable feature of the partnership between Patta and Nike.
Hyper Crimson accents introduce controlled bursts of color throughout the design. The vibrant orange tone appears on the lateral Swoosh, the rubber outsole, and the classic Nike branding placed on the tongue and heel. This approach uses the color with restraint, allowing the orange details to guide the eye across the shoe without overwhelming the overall composition.
The upper relies on a combination of materials that create a balanced foundation for the brighter elements. Pure Platinum leather panels sit alongside breathable mesh sections, forming a neutral base that allows the accent color to stand out. These materials maintain the Air Max 1 structure while introducing subtle shifts in texture across the upper.
Tones similar to Sail cover the tongue, inner lining, and midsole. This treatment introduces a slightly vintage appearance. The off-white finish also supports the contrast between the Pure Platinum base and the brighter Hyper Crimson details.
Patta and Nike extend the narrative element of the project through the packaging and accessories included with each pair. Every release in the “Waves” series places attention on details that reflect the background of the Amsterdam label and the shared story of its founders. The White Hyper Crimson version follows the same approach by including several lace options that allow wearers to adjust the look of the shoe.
Each pair also arrives with a custom bracelet featuring the Surinamese flag. The accessory acknowledges the heritage connected to Patta’s founders and continues a tradition of cultural references within the collaboration.
