Golden Goose introduces the Marathon Speed sneaker to a global audience after an earlier debut in China and Korea in September 2025. The release builds on the brand’s established Marathon line and introduces a new low-sole direction shaped by references to Seventies track culture. Marathon Speed reflects a focus on forward drive, connecting the discipline of running with a broader idea of progress through daily life.

The design draws from American track and field during the Seventies, a period defined by experimentation in both sport and style. Golden Goose translates that reference into a flat silhouette that reduces bulk while maintaining the visual codes of its Marathon predecessor. The result presents a sneaker that keeps a grounded profile and a direct connection to athletic footwear history. The brand aligns this model with individuals who approach daily routines with consistency and imagination.

Golden Goose develops Marathon Speed as a genderless silhouette and introduces it in three versions that rely on material contrast and surface treatment. Each variation explores a different direction while maintaining a consistent structure. The first version uses leopard-print ponyhair, combining beige and black tones that create a strong visual impact. Black nappa leather appears on the star and heel tab, while vintage side stitching reinforces the retro reference. Cream trekking-style laces complete the construction and add a functional detail that aligns with outdoor influences.
The second version shifts toward a more muted composition through tobacco suede. This option introduces a softer color range while retaining key elements of the design language. A silver star print adds a defined accent, while the heel tab appears in beige nappa leather. The same cream trekking-style laces appear here, creating continuity between versions while supporting the overall structure of the sneaker.

The third version presents black nappa leather treated with a distressed finish that reflects the brand’s established approach to surface texture. A silver star print appears again, paired with brown trekking-style laces that alter the balance of the design. The heel tab returns in black nappa leather, reinforcing a cohesive tone across the upper. Each version maintains a consistent shape while shifting emphasis through materials and finishes.
All three sneakers include an amber outsole that features a star motif. Golden Goose reinforces the heel area to support grip and durability during daily wear. The outsole leaves a visible imprint that connects directly to the brand’s visual identity. These construction choices support stability and traction, aligning the sneaker with everyday use while maintaining a clear visual direction.

Golden Goose extends the release through its Co-Creation program, which allows clients to adjust each pair with the help of Dream Makers. This process introduces additional lace sets in various fabrics and colors, offering a new layer of variation. Clients can also add decorative elements such as charms, pins, crystals, and pearls. Each addition alters the final appearance of the sneaker and gives the wearer direct input in the design process.
The Co-Creation approach builds on Golden Goose’s existing retail experience, where customization forms a key part of the brand’s identity. Dream Makers guide clients through available options and apply each modification by hand. This interaction creates a direct link between production and personal choice, allowing each pair of Marathon Speed sneakers to reflect individual preferences through specific material and decorative selections.
The Marathon Speed sneaker is now available at select Golden Goose stores worldwide and through its official website.
