PUMA continues to expand the Speedcat line. After the OG, Wedge, and Ballet, the brand introduces the Speedcat Mule. The silhouette shifts into a slip-on format, replacing laces with elastic straps while maintaining its low profile and motorsport DNA. The first iterations arrive in deep black and dark brown.

The Speedcat traces back to 1999, when PUMA introduced it as a racing shoe developed for motorsport. The design focused on a close-to-the-ground shape suited to driving, with a thin sole and a streamlined upper that allowed for better pedal feel. Early versions connected closely to Formula 1, where footwear required flexibility and grip without bulk. PUMA later adapted the design for wider release, removing technical racing requirements while keeping the defining proportions and structure.
The current Speedcat lineup follows the 2024 reintroduction, with OG, Wedge, and Ballet released in 2025. The Speedcat OG refers to the present-day release of the original 1999 design. It retains the low-cut structure, slim outsole, suede upper, and the PUMA Formstrip associated with the first model. This version functions as the reference point within the current range.
The Speedcat Wedge builds on an archival PUMA design, introduced in 2025 as part of the Speedcat Lux pack. It uses the Speedcat upper with a concealed wedge heel and velcro fastening, increasing height and changing the proportions of the silhouette while keeping the same base construction.
The Speedcat Ballet shifts the design into a different format. It adapts the silhouette into a slip-on structure influenced by ballet flats, using elastic straps and a modified upper while retaining the low-profile foundation associated with the Speedcat.
With the Speedcat Mule, PUMA adds another variation to the lineup. The design extends the silhouette into a more casual format while staying consistent with its original design language.
