Wales Bonner expands her work with adidas through a new Y-3 collection, following the reveal of the Y-3 x WB adidas Field Lizzard sneaker. The project brings her vintage-minded design language into Yohji Yamamoto’s sport-focused adidas line, placing clothing, accessories, and footwear within a campaign rooted in Tokyo and personal interior spaces.

Photographed by Takashi Homma, the campaign takes shape through a series of intimate vignettes centered on collectors and creators based in Tokyo. Rather than staging the collection in a neutral studio, Homma photographs the subjects in their own spaces, allowing each room to frame the clothing through objects, textures, and personal references. Traditional Japanese interiors appear alongside an African art collection, giving the campaign a cross-cultural structure that reflects the dialogue behind the collaboration.

The clothing continues that exchange through familiar references from both designers. Wales Bonner brings her interest in retro adidas sportswear, while Yamamoto’s Y-3 line contributes a sport-forward language shaped by restraint, structure, and detail. The result gives SS26 a wardrobe built around track pieces, knitwear, mesh, shorts, bags, and a football-inspired sneaker, all connected through color, material, and controlled graphic treatment.
A coffee-hued Satin Track Jacket leads the apparel lineup. The jacket uses a lustrous brown surface and carries tonal souvenir-style embroidery on the back, with imagery inspired by Japanese nature. The piece carries a polished finish while keeping the track jacket’s athletic base clear. In the campaign styling, the jacket appears with the bright blue Y-3 End Pant, which features brown stripes down the sides.

Another key piece arrives in the form of a tan knitted track jacket with dark brown stripes and a “Y-3 WB” wordmark at the waist. The knit construction gives the track jacket a softer texture, while the striping keeps the piece within the adidas visual code. Wales Bonner often works with sportswear through material shifts and archival cues, and this piece continues that approach through a warmer palette and a more tactile surface.
For SS26, the collection also introduces lighter seasonal pieces. A mesh tank top and baggy shorts round out the wardrobe with items built for warmer weather and looser styling. These additions keep the collection from staying too formal or too polished, giving the lineup a practical summer rhythm. The accessories extend the same direction. A brimmed beanie appears in two earth-toned colorways, while a roomy patent leather handbag carries a golden Y-3 WB wordmark. The handbag brings a glossier surface into the collection and gives the accessories category a stronger visual presence.

The Field Lizzard sneaker anchors the collaboration’s footwear. The low football-inspired shoe uses reptilian and black leathers, quietly embossed logos, and white stripes. Its 1970s sportswear reference connects directly to the apparel, while its material treatment gives the sneaker its own identity within the project. As the first piece revealed from the collaboration, it set the tone for the full Y-3 by Wales Bonner collection. Y-3 by Wales Bonner will be available on May 13 through Wales Bonner website, CONFIRMED, adidas website, and select stockists.
