Jordan Brand introduces the Air Jordan 41, one of Nike’s most anticipated releases of the year. Created in close collaboration with Michael Jordan, as with every Air Jordan model, the new basketball shoe draws on his versatility and feedback from players across multiple levels of the game. The model advances the Air Jordan line through lighter materials, responsive cushioning and a construction designed to support speed, control and movement across the full court. Jordan Brand developed the Air Jordan 41 with input from Michael Jordan, professional and collegiate athletes on the brand’s roster, and players from Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League. Their feedback guided the team toward a lighter and more responsive silhouette suited to the demands of current basketball.
The shoe introduces nano print mesh to Jordan Brand for the first time. The woven upper reduces weight while providing targeted structure, containment and airflow. Its construction supports quick cuts, drives and defensive movement.
Leo Chang, Senior Creative Director, Basketball & Sport at Jordan Brand, explains that the team wanted an upper that could move with athletes while giving them the support required for competitive play. Nano printing allowed the designers to control structure across different areas of the material without adding unnecessary weight.
The upper also supports a wide range of graphic treatments. Its cross-hatch print uses two contrasting line directions, and designers can apply color to each independently or as one system.
Underfoot, Jordan Brand combines a full-length Zoom Strobel with a ZoomX midsole to deliver responsiveness, lightness and speed. The Air Jordan 41 also adds an Air Zoom unit in the heel, building on the construction of the Air Jordan 40. Michael Jordan’s observations about defense and staying on the toes influenced the addition. The heel cushioning helps players remain ready to shift their weight forward. A carbon fiber and TPU shank provides stability, while a full-length HART rubber herringbone traction pattern supports fast changes in direction.
The Air Jordan 41 also moves away from the leather commonly associated with earlier Air Jordan models. Jordan Brand uses nano printing and thin textiles to create a lighter feel. A TPU window reveals parts of the shoe’s internal technology, while an asymmetrical collar and metallic Jumpman hardware complete the design.
Jordan Brand athletes Napheesa Collier, Paolo Banchero and Stephon Castle each point to the shoe’s responsiveness, light weight and ability to support movement across both ends of the court.
Jordan Brand will introduce the Air Jordan 41 through gemstone-themed colorways connected to Michael Jordan’s personal history. The Ruby launch colorway references his three championship runs with Chicago. An upcoming Amethyst edition draws from Jordan’s birthstone, while Opal references his alma mater.
