Nike introduces the Kobe 10 Protro Halo as the first colorway for the updated Kobe 10, bringing the 2015 basketball shoe into its Protro program through an all-white edition tied to Kobe Bryant’s birthday.

The Halo treatment gives the Kobe 10 a monochromatic white finish that places its construction and original design lines in clear view. The colorway follows the annual Halo concept that Vanessa Bryant developed with Nike Basketball in 2023. Nike introduced the idea through the triple-white Kobe 8 Protro and established August 23, Kobe Bryant’s birthday, as the annual release date for the series. Nike continued the concept with subsequent Kobe models, including the Kobe 3 Protro Halo in 2025.
On the Kobe 10, the white palette covers the engineered mesh upper, branding, cushioning structure and outsole, giving the low-profile silhouette a uniform treatment. The simple color scheme also emphasizes elements inherited from the original Kobe X, including its low cut, streamlined upper and carbon fiber forefoot wing. Nike keeps that carbon component intact to provide lateral stability during directional changes. The shoe also retains Kobe’s hidden “Endure and Conquer” message from the original design.
Nike gives the Protro version substantial internal updates. The original Kobe 10 debuted in 2015 with Lunarlon cushioning and a Zoom Air unit in the heel. For the 2026 edition, Nike replaces that setup with Cushlon 3.0 foam and a full-length Zoom Strobel unit directly underfoot. The new combination targets energy return, court feel and comfort while preserving the lightweight character associated with the Kobe 10.
The upper also receives changes for current basketball performance. Nike redesigns the engineered mesh to increase airflow and flexibility and widens the forefoot for additional space. Reinforced areas help keep the foot secure during hard cuts. These revisions came from athlete wear testing and Nike Sport Research Lab data, which informed the development of the Protro edition.
Nike applies the same research-led approach underfoot. The brand uses modern athlete data to reshape the outsole while retaining the traction concept of the 2015 shoe. The revised configuration targets grip during quick cuts, takeoffs and rapid directional changes. The carbon fiber wing near the forefoot works alongside the updated sole structure to support lateral stability.
The Halo release also introduces the wider Kobe 10 Protro program. Nike plans additional engineered mesh colorways during 2026, while Flyknit versions featuring ZoomX foam will follow in 2027.
The Nike Kobe 10 Protro Halo releases August 23, 2026, through Nike SNKRS and select Nike Basketball retailers, priced at $190 in the US.
