“Diane always told me it was all about ‘body language’,” Zankov says. “What I learned from her was how to work with the body: how clothes move, how they reveal, how they communicate.”
Zankov also connects the collection to his own experience. Raised by strong women, he describes the role as familiar territory and approaches fashion as a form of communication. For Spring Summer 2027, he focuses that language on clothes that create seduction through their own construction and the way each wearer chooses to inhabit them.
Long, lean silhouettes establish the collection’s proportions. Zankov builds a wardrobe designed for mixing and matching, using jersey, chiffon, tailoring and silk to create different levels of structure and fluidity. Color blocking appears throughout, while scarf dressing and bias-cut silks introduce softer lines that respond directly to the body.
The collection repeatedly examines how fabric can wrap, reveal and reshape familiar silhouettes. Tissue jersey sits lightly against the figure, while crinkled chiffon brings texture and movement. Deconstructed tailoring softens conventional structure and adds an intentionally undone quality to the wardrobe.
Animal prints also return through references drawn from the Diane von Furstenberg archive. Zankov places these established motifs within new silhouettes, allowing them to enter the season through updated proportions and different fabric treatments.
