Designer Sharon Wauchob showcased her Spring Summer 2017 Womenswear collection at Saint Cyprian’s Church, on September 19, during London Fashion Week. For her LFW debut, acclaimed designer moved from Paris to London, Sharon brought her elegant eclecticism and easy silhouette to a new stage. Collection is mix of old and new, mixing French fabrics with a London attitude.

“Inspired by the eccentric, anarchic energy and twisted tradition of Derek Jarman’s seminal 1978 film ‘Jubilee’, Wauchob reworks traditional cotton print motifs into something altogether more special as surface decoration on luxurious silks and inspiration for collage-like lace patterns. A sense of the hand pervades: embroidered wildflowers spread across tulle, iconic tailoring fabrics are crumpled and pleated, and silk is delicately painted to resemble faded denim. Dusky shades of sky, mint, apricot and lavender are anchored by rich cream and oxblood leather. Hems are asymmetric, silhouettes fluid. Metallic fabrications add further attitude and accessories have a punk feel. Slouchy leather bags with weighty chain handles can also be worn slung around thewaist. A collaboration with Faberge sees Wauchob reimagine the haute jeweller’s signature egg: polished stone is exquisitely studded with delicate diamonds and hangs suspendedfrom gossamer chain necklaces and button holes.“
