Audi has revealed the groundbreaking Q6 e-tron offroad concept during the world cup weekend in Kitzbühel, Austria, giving enthusiasts a glimpse into the future of electric off-road vehicles. This prototype is built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and reimagines Audi’s legendary quattro capability, offering advanced off-road performance with cutting-edge design.

At the heart of the Q6 e-tron offroad concept are newly developed portal axles that enhance torque at the wheels by an impressive 50%, enabling the vehicle to climb gradients of up to 100% (45 degrees). Combined with a 160 mm (6.3 in) increase in ride height and a 250 mm (9.8 in) wider track, the concept car boasts a commanding presence and exceptional off-road agility. Powered by two electric motors delivering a combined 380 kW, it ensures both strength and precision across challenging terrains.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner described the Q6 e-tron offroad concept as a “highly emotive reinterpretation of quattro,” highlighting the prototype’s potential to redefine electric off-road vehicles. With a peak torque of 13,400 Nm (9,883 lb ft) for 10 seconds, the car demonstrates Audi’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation. While its top speed is limited to 175 km/h (108 mph)—perfect for off-roading—its sheer climbing ability and torque are a testament to Audi’s Vorsprung durch Technik.
