PUMA enlists Amelia Gray for a new chapter in the revival of the Mostro, the brand’s feral low-profile sneaker first introduced in 1999. Known for her instinctive style and sharp presence, Gray fronts a campaign that unfolds entirely after dark, tracing moments of tension, play, and allure as the night evolves.

The visuals are both intimate and unpredictable, qualities that echo the essence of the Mostro itself.

The shoe’s design, a hybrid of a 1960s track spike and a 1980s surf shoe, resurfaces here with its signature spiked sole and utilitarian strap closure. Originally dubbed “Mostro,” meaning “monster” in Italian, the silhouette disrupts standard sneaker design with its low-slung frame and aggressive detailing. In this latest campaign, PUMA emphasizes the shoe’s energy by placing it in motion, always ready, never resting.

“Comfy, cool, and just really easy to wear,” Gray says of the Mostro. “It looks great with everything and instantly pulls the whole look together.” Her comments reflect the appeal of the model’s retro-future balance. With a versatile shape and tonal colorways, the Mostro fits the unpredictability of a night out while keeping pace with today’s fashion-forward crowd.

The campaign follows a series of experimental reintroductions and collaborations that have brought renewed attention to the Mostro’s unique lineage. Rather than rely on nostalgia alone, PUMA anchors the shoe’s return in forward-thinking styling and cultural relevance, with Gray serving as the perfect link between past reference and present intent.

Set against a dim, atmospheric backdrop, the visuals tease the Mostro’s presence more than they reveal it outright. The tension builds throughout the campaign, offering glimmers of the sneaker’s texture and shape through fluid movement and late-night detail. It’s a rhythm that favors instinct over planning, echoing the shoe’s own restless DNA.

The story begins June 5, 2025, with the release of the “Pelé Yellow” colorway, available on PUMA.com, at PUMA flagship locations, and through selected retailers. More editions are expected to drop later in the year, each continuing to explore the Mostro’s evolution in unexpected directions.
