The appointment recognizes Smith’s creative perspective and his longstanding connection with the Maison.

Christian Louboutin and Jaden Smith first met in Paris in 2019, where they began a conversation built on mutual admiration. Louboutin valued Smith’s inventive energy, his respect for the Maison, and his forward-looking awareness. Over time, their exchanges developed into a collaborative relationship.
Smith brings a background that moves across music, fashion, performance, and activism. He has spent nearly a decade working with footwear through his own projects and past collaborations with Louboutin. His approach centers on curiosity and fearlessness, qualities that Christian Louboutin describes as essential for the men’s collection to evolve in new directions. In his words, Louboutin said that Smith’s “style and cultural sensibility are inspiring” and that he looks forward to building the men’s collections with him.

For Smith, the role represents more than a title. He described the Maison as a creative home that allows him to explore and create with freedom. He emphasized his wish to honor the past while shaping the future through his personal perspective, stressing that his work with Louboutin comes from shared respect for creative independence. Smith also acknowledged the Maison’s legacy, pointing to Christian Louboutin’s joy and hard work as sources of inspiration.
Alexis Mourot, Chief Executive Officer, confirmed the importance of this appointment by noting the growth of the men’s line. Since its launch over 15 years ago, men’s products now account for nearly a quarter of the Maison’s business. Mourot explained that this expansion sets the stage for Smith’s addition to the creative team, reinforcing the brand’s vision while strengthening its presence in the men’s category.
The first expressions of Smith’s influence will arrive in January with an avant-premiere capsule available in select boutiques and on Maison’s website. His full debut collection as Men’s Creative Director will be unveiled during Men’s Fall Winter 2026 Paris Fashion Week, marking the beginning of his tenure in the role.
