GAUCHERE introduced its Spring Summer 2026 collection as a live performance where dance and design converged. Under the direction of founder and creative lead Marie-Christine Statz, the French label explored transformation through fabric, silhouette, and movement. The presentation staged fashion as an evolving language, shifting from one form into another with each gesture.
The collaboration with choreographer and former New York City Ballet principal Benjamin Millepied redefined the runway into a performative space. Instead of models walking, dancers revealed the collection in motion. Movement shaped the presentation, with garments extending the body’s gestures.
Music structured the performance as well. David Lang’s piece This was written by Hand accompanied the choreography. Five dancers interpreted the score while presenting the collection, moving in and out of duos, trios, and full ensemble sequences. The repetition and change within the music echoed the theme of transformation central to the season.
Fifteen looks compose the Spring Summer 2026 offering. The palette includes black and white contrasts, followed by tones of brown and beige, before shifting into cooler shades of blue. Off-white and pastel yellow introduce lighter notes, while marble black and architectural gray ground the sequence with darker neutrals.
Collection uses denim, faux leather, and nylon provided structure, while jersey and silk introduced fluidity. Tailored jackets in lightweight wool layer over soft fabrics. Skirts pair with sculptural bra tops, creating contrasts between rigid and flowing elements. Several looks use silk-viscose crepe panels linked by snaps, designed to shift shape in response to movement, further integrating the choreography into the construction of the garments.
