Nike presents the ACG Zegama as the most rugged entry in the All Conditions running lineup, designed for athletes who chase long distances on harsh, uneven terrain. The silhouette arrives with features shaped by extensive testing, with Nike ACG runners directing every phase of development. The model focuses on cushioning, traction and support for runners who spend full days in the mountains or enter ultramarathons that cover unpredictable ground.

Nike equips the ACG Zegama with exposed ZoomX foam directly underfoot, giving runners a cushioned ride and responsive energy return. ZoomX, the lightest and most reactive midsole compound in the brand’s catalog, works with Cushlon 3.0 foam to add stability on rugged routes. This layered platform supports runners during ascents, descents and long efforts that require reliable underfoot structure for many hours.
The outsole features Vibram Megagrip with an updated lug pattern and targeted rubber coverage. This setup delivers traction in dry and wet conditions and drives control on steep or technical surfaces. A forefoot rock plate shields the foot from sharp edges on rocky trails, while a revised heel bump improves placement on difficult ground. The shoe’s structure reflects feedback from athletes who race on steep grades and unpredictable trails.
Nike forms the upper with changes aimed at comfort and protection. A new trail-specific last introduces added room in the toe box and forefoot, giving runners space during long distances when feet tend to swell. A more adaptive gaiter blocks debris, and padding in the tongue and heel supports extended runs. A fit band stabilizes the midfoot and creates consistent lockdown. These updates follow requests from Nike ACG’s global group of trail athletes, who ran in the shoe for weeks at a time, often logging 400 miles during testing.
Brenden McAleese, Director of Nike ACG Footwear, credits the wider toe box and the trail-tuned ZoomX setup as key elements that help runners enter technical terrain with confidence. Caleb Olson, Western States Endurance Run winner and member of the All Conditions Racing Department, describes the ACG Zegama as a sturdy option with comfort, stability and increased responsiveness for technical races. Tyler Green, Western States runner-up and top 10 UTMB finisher, first used the silhouette days before a race on a steep and rocky course and praised its ride, traction and design.
Nike connects the ACG Zegama to the broader ACG lineage that began in the 1980s, a history defined by footwear created for speed and rugged routes.
