ASICS introduces the GEL-NIMBUS 28 as the newest evolution of its widely recognized cushioned running shoe. The brand focuses on comfort and weight reduction, bringing a lighter structure to runners who rely on this series. The model drops over 20 grams compared to its predecessor, creating a softer, more refined experience while keeping the plush feel that defines the franchise.

ASICS equips the shoe with FF BLAST PLUS cushioning, which delivers soft landings and supports a smooth stride. PureGEL sits under the heel as an updated form of ASICS’ signature GEL technology. This material offers trusted shock absorption in a lighter format, reinforcing the shoe’s comfort-focused design.

The reduction in weight comes from several advances. The HYBRID ASICSGRIP outsole uses a refined construction that maintains durable traction. A new engineered knit upper brings a lighter feel and strong breathability, offering a softer fit than the previous version. An updated heel design contributes further to the lighter overall build while presenting a clean, modern profile.
ASICS adds new details that support ease of use. A revised tongue loop design helps runners slip the shoe on with less effort. Updated eyelet loops reduce visible elements on the upper, creating a streamlined look that reinforces the model’s modern character.

Keita Ozawa, developer of Performance Running Footwear at ASICS, describes the GEL-NIMBUS 28 as the result of continuous refinement guided by the brand’s Kaizen philosophy. He emphasizes advances to the outsole, upper, and cushioning as key factors that elevate comfort for runners and support a more enjoyable experience.
ASICS releases the GEL-NIMBUS 28 globally with a retail price of 200€.
