International Documentary Film Festival Beldocs will hold its nineteenth edition from May 20 to 26, with screenings taking place at several venues across Belgrade. This year’s edition includes more than 100 films of different formats and durations, from short works to feature-length titles, along with VR projects and video games that introduce a modern viewing experience. The selection brings together films from Serbia and the region alongside international titles, including award-winning documentaries and several world and European premieres.
CINEMA
This year’s program covers a wide range of subjects. Films address science and technology, migration, and the relationship between humans, nature, and animals. Biographical and music documentaries remain part of the program and continue to attract strong audience interest. Several projects use archival material to explore historical perspectives, while others examine the role of media and the importance of media literacy.
Beldocs continues to strongly support filmmakers from Serbia through a section that continues to grow in both quality and variety. The festival also maintains space for new voices and creative approaches, while connecting the local scene with the international scene.
Beldocs Industry takes place alongside the main program, bringing together film professionals from Serbia and abroad. The program includes workshops, training sessions, panels, and discussions focused on project development. Filmmakers present their work directly to mentors and key industry figures, including representatives from festivals, television networks, funds, distribution companies, and VOD platforms.
Ticket sales begin in late April through the official festival website, where detailed program and screening information will be available.
