Cutler and Gross introduces a new eyewear collection created in close collaboration with Debbie Harry, the punk pioneer, Blondie frontwoman, and cultural figure whose image has shaped music, fashion, and visual culture for more than five decades. The collection translates her presence into three limited sunglass styles, each personally curated and designed with a precise sense of attitude, control, and self-expression.

Harry built her career across New York’s underground scenes, where sound, style, performance, and identity moved with rare force. As the lead singer of Blondie and through her solo work, she has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and continues to influence generations of musicians, designers, and artists. This collaboration approaches her as a figure in motion, focusing on the tension, sharpness, and individuality that have defined her public image without turning the project into a nostalgic exercise.

The collection centers on three cat-eye silhouettes, each shaped through a different reading of Harry’s visual language. Cutler and Gross brings its eyewear expertise to the project through strong acetate construction, sculptural proportions, and carefully finished details. Harry brings a more instinctive charge, one rooted in punk, glamour, and a sense of quiet refusal.
Akira 001 offers the most dramatic profile in the collection. The oversized butterfly shape gives the frame a strong face-framing quality, while external milling and beveling create a three-dimensional effect across the acetate. The result feels direct and graphic, with volume used as a defining feature.

Valentina 002 takes a sharper route. Its rectangular cat-eye profile gives the design a clean, angular structure, while smooth gradient lenses soften the frame without reducing its intensity. The contrast between geometry and lens finish gives Valentina 002 a controlled character.
Maria 003 brings a retro-inspired cat-eye into the collection through curved lenses and a shape that moves against expected eyewear codes. Its name points to one of Blondie’s defining songs, while the frame itself carries a more elegant rhythm. Maria 003 completes the trio with a slightly softer attitude, though it still keeps the collection’s sense of defiance and personal style.

Each frame comes handcrafted in Italy from fine acetate and appears in two colorways, deep black and rich Havana brown. Cutler and Gross finishes every style with a gold-foil DH logo, giving the collection a personal mark linked directly to Harry.
Debbie Harry’s own words frame the collection with clarity: “Everyone sees things and feels things their own way. It’s inevitable that you’re going to be misunderstood.” Each style is released in limited quantities and retails for $675. The Debbie Harry collection is available through Cutler and Gross standalone stores, online, and select stockists worldwide.
