DAKS presented Spring Summer 2019 menswear and womenswear collection on Sunday 17th June, during the recently finished Milan Fashion Week. For its 125th anniversary, the brand embodies the essence of English elegance updated with a contemporary twist.
SPRING SUMMER 2019 MENSWEAR
This is the second season of a new journey for DAKS, displaying a co-ed show, with both the womenswear and menswear collections walking next to each other down one runway. Both are very much linked, from the colourways to the fabrics there is a clear synergy between both the menswear and womenswear collection. The inspiration behind the DAKS SS19 collection comes from the English garden. Comprised of delicate and bright colours to transport you instantly to a English garden in summer time, surrounded by perfume and colour. From lemon yellow to wood green and oranges to pink hues, colour is at the heart of this collection. Light blues and sea greens are also used to create an extensive colour palette synonymous with vibrant English gardens in the spring summer time. As well as colour, prints are also at the heart of the DAKS SS19 collections. Perhaps the most significant print is the “Anniversary Check”. DAKS reimagine its iconic house check season on season, but for its 125th Anniversary DAKS has created an entirely new check to mark this prestigious event. Presented in various colourways, the pattern is printed on garments comprised of chiffon, georgette and cotton. It is also produced in jacquard for key knitwear pieces for both the menswear and womenswear collections. – from Daks
