Designer Christopher John Rogers presented his Pre-Fall 2021 Collection inspired by his childhood memories of getting dressed in Louisiana, as well as of his early adolescence memories of surfing online forums, playing video games, and finding his own style in secondhand shops. The collection explores a Southern influences with monochromatic ensembles and a sense of overall polish. It also explores the ideas of happenstance and serendipity. Fashion photographer César Buitrago captured the lookbook featuring models Danielle Mareka, Jay Pak, Mila Ganame, Precious Kevin, Rori Grenert, and Sokhna Niane. In charge of art direction was Christina Chanel Ripley, with casting direction from Ricky Michiels. Beauty is work of hair stylist Naeemah Lafond, and makeup artist Allie Smith.
“In Collection 009, those happy accidents manifest themselves into tucks and pleats, gathers and twists that create opportunities to explore a timely sense of sensuality while also embracing an off-ness. Other, more pragmatic details like hidden zippers within dresses allows for the individual to explore a desired modesty or exhibition at their own discretion.” – Christopher John Rogers
