Fashion house SONGZIO unveiled its Spring Summer 2024 Collection named Pure Rebel, that celebrates the brand’s 30th anniversary, on June 23rd, during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. The collection captures the house’s essence, which is both pure and subversive. It features sculptural designs that convey both stillness and fluidity of motion. It reveals the brand’s unique combination of deconstructivist elements, oriental elegance, and a youthful edge, resulting in a orderly disorder.
SPRING SUMMER 2024 COLLECTIONS
In addition to Songzio‘s signature black, the color palette for this season consists of light and muted hues such as ivory, beige, ecru, and crème, with delicate lime and salmon pink accents. The collection combines heavy/sculptural fabrics with ultra-light/fluid fabrics to create a contrast. Voluminous and sharp materials such as leather, wool silk, and cotton satin are juxtaposed with silk, organza, and habotai, which are fluid and translucent.
This collection combines classical and modern elements in a seamless manner, fusing the brand’s distinctive and artistic designs with a new sense of youthful ready-to-wear and tailoring. Drawing inspiration from ancient Korean garments and armor, the collection prominently displays the brand’s signature cocoon silhouette and volume, which has been deftly deconstructed through multi-layered drapes and plated cuts. The collection is comprised of blazers, jackets, shirts, and pants that feature multidraped and layered construction. These horizontally cut garments are worn with vertically layered leather, habotai, and silk inner parts.
The creative process of Songzio, known as ‘Paint on Black,’ materializes this season with these pieces. The brand starts each collection with a black canvas on which the season’s inspirational painting is drawn. In the multilayered paintings of Songzio, the vertical brushstrokes represent the object, whereas the horizontal ones represent its emotions. The same concept of strokes and layers is applied to this season’s accessories. The collection is highlighted by plate-layered shoulder purses, pouches, classic rounded Derby shoes, and ribboned loafers. In addition, the collection features a collaboration with Reebok that includes shoes inspired by the season’s characteristic plates and draping wings.
