Luxury house VERSACE unveiled its Spring Summer 2024 Collection with a fashion show held on Friday, September 22nd, during the ongoing Milan Fashion Week. Inspired by the vigor of youth, the assurance of personal confidence, and the dynamic pulse of urban life, the Spring Summer 2204 Collection emerges as a comprehensive ode to modern living. The collection symbolizes a perfect amalgamation of essential wardrobe staples and extravagant evening wear. Embodied with the profound expertise of Atelier, the collection showcases an exquisite blend of corsetry construction and impeccable tailoring.
The Spring Summer 2024 designs exude lightness, sculptural aesthetics, and sleekness. Versace‘s distinctive use of precise architecture is manifested in the three-dimensional structured necklines, seamless collarless jackets, and the emblematic bustier. Elements from the Spring-Summer 1995 Atelier Versace collection breathe fresh life into the collection, featuring modernized twisted and knotted pieces. Transparent georgette and jersey redefine the contours of dresses and tops, blending heritage with contemporary flair.
Versace‘s new collection underscores a fundamental focus on design. A symphony of contrasts takes the center stage: hard metal pairs with delicate intarsia lace, while graphic checkerboard patterns interplay with intricate embroidery. The acclaimed Barocco print is impressively embossed in silk-blend duchesse, accompanying macramé borders, offering a delightful visual experience.
The collection triumphs in its use of a delicate pastel palette, featuring shades like Pastel Pink, Blue, Mint Green, and Pale Yellow, complemented by natural hues of Light Sand and Pearl Gray. Dark Ruby, Black, and White ground the collection, adding a touch of timeless elegance.
Fresh and graphic. This is a Versace summer with color and shine, tailoring and soft draping. I love the contrast between boxy suits and the transparency of an evening dress; matte sorbet tweeds and shiny metal mesh. The craftsmanship lessons of the Atelier are applied to achieve something super refined. This collection is joyful and sharp. The Versace woman is free and vibrant. The Versace man is confident and daring. – Donatella Versace
Evoking a spirited tribute to the 1960s, the collection celebrates vibrancy and optimism, while echoing modernity in material and design. The playful layering of tailored jackets, silk shirts, and micro shorts brings forth a youthful exuberance. Men’s tailoring is revamped with pinched waist jackets and wide flaring pants, enhancing the silhouette of the season with sharp and clean lines.
Leather accessories, featuring iconic House codes like Barocco, Greca, and Medusa, make a striking statement. The Greca Goddess line and the unisex Athena tote bag take on a fresh persona, while the Medusa ’95 adds a unique form to the new bag line. The collection also introduces a range of highly portable and versatile cargo leather bags and pouches, available in diverse shapes, from tote bags to handheld pouches.
The shoe collection echoes the overarching messages of the entire line. The Gianni Ribbon ballerina flat emerges as the season’s star, marking a significant first for Versace – opening a fashion show with a pair of flat shoes. The collection also presents an array of footwear options, including cork-sole sandals and track sandals, each piece showcasing the exquisite detailing and iconic elements that Versace is renowned for.
The Versace Spring Summer 2024 Collection stands as a comprehensive exploration of design, form, and function, seamlessly intertwining the timeless with the contemporary, the essential with the extravagant. Versace continues to push the boundaries of fashion, resonating with the dynamism and vibrancy of modern life.
