SONGZIO’s 2024 Autumn Winter Collection, titled “Night Thieves,” made a debut during the 24FW Paris Men’s Fashion Week. This collection revolves around the spirit of SONGZIO’s antiheroes, the Night Thieves, who command the paradoxical nature of the night: calm yet rowdy, eerie yet earthly, dark yet gleaming. The collection takes its inspiration from a painting of Prometheus, the mythological figure punished for stealing fire from the gods—a symbol of divergent perspectives and unintended consequences. Like Prometheus, the antiheroes of this collection bring both future and chaos, representing a blend of villainous yet heroic characteristics.
The collection’s color palette is bold and striking, breaking away from SONGZIO’s signature monotonous looks with cardinal red and golden yellow pieces that suit the collection’s characters. The use of metallic fabrics, heavily woven knits, bold bouclé and tweed wools, and leather adds textural and sculptural elements, creating a sense of elegant boldness. SONGZIO’s 24FW collection is a convergence of order and disorder, the Oriental and the Occidental, darkness and shine, featuring modern Oriental looks inspired by classical cocoon, dolman, and bell-shaped silhouettes. The collection beautifully marries sharp angles with rounded volumes and includes the brand’s signature ‘plated’ pieces, cut symmetrically and asymmetrically.
Fluidity and imperfection are introduced through sharp and asymmetrical draping and layering, adding a dynamic quality to the collection—sculptural in stillness, yet fluid in motion. Prominent throughout the collection are vertical and horizontal cuts, representing SONGZIO’s painting method of crossing strokes, where vertical strokes symbolize the object, and horizontal strokes convey emotions—the sinner and his anguish, the thief and his envy, and the antihero and his determination.
The collection also features a wide array of accessories inspired by the antiheroes of ancient Eastern folktales, including tall hairy hats, fur gloves, plated leather cummerbunds, calf hair barrel bags, ‘Gomusin’ shoes, and ‘Blackeyes’ jewelry. Each antihero is dressed in subtle individuality within an imposing uniformity. Additionally, SONGZIO unveils a special collaboration with Reebok, featuring an avant-garde activewear collection from sneakers to voluminous outerwear.
