adidas Originals and Wales Bonner are releasing their latest collection for Spring Summer 2024, titled “The Rift Valley Runners”. This season, they have drawn inspiration from the legacy of East African runners, particularly from the ‘Home of Champions’ in Iten, Kenya.
The latest offering from this collaboration marries archival aesthetics with contemporary design elements. The apparel line includes vibrant tracksuits, reimagined running singlets adapted for everyday wear, color-blocked t-shirts featuring the iconic Three Stripes, intricately patterned shorts, and timeless pieces of khaki outerwear. Complementing the apparel, the collection has a range of accessories including reversible bucket hats, a variety of bags, and graphic print socks available in bold color schemes.
On the footwear front, Wales Bonner has applied their distinctive style to the adidas SL 76, revitalizing this archival classic in two new colorways: yellow with black stripes and light blue with black stripes. Additionally, the collection features two interpretations of the adidas Samba: the timeless Samba in dual colorways and the Samba Millennium, which makes its debut with unique designs featuring a leather heel and a blue pony hair heel.
Capturing the collection, photographer Viviane Sassen and filmmaker Steven Traylor have created a powerful campaign that narrates the story of endurance through the journeys of world-class adidas runners such as Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Bethwel Yegon. The campaign shows the apparel and footwear but also pays homage to the spirit of competition and personal achievement.
Set to launch globally on May 21, the adidas Originals by Wales Bonner Spring Summer 2024 collection will be available through adidas.com, Confirmed, and select retailers. Take a closer look at the collection in the Gallery below:
