The collection is alive with unexpected proportions and playful gestures. Tailored jackets with high shoulders collapse elegantly over the torso, while suit pants, cinched at the waist by leather and chain, blur the lines between formality and utility. Tufts of marshmallow white details flirt with the boundary between fringe and frill, injecting an element of ambiguity and whimsy. The dynamic juxtaposition of structure and fluidity brings a sense of movement and possibility to the collection.
Mayner’s designs continue to challenge convention, with robed pants draped generously around the hips and sleeves on shirts, coats, and knitwear arched into distinctive curves. Vintage pieces are deconstructed and reassembled – legs push through the arms of a beaten motorcycle jacket, while a cable-knit sweater with an emptied sleeve twists around the body, exposing the hip.
