Italian luxury house Prada unveiled its Fall Winter 2025 menswear collection, designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, as an exploration of the primal facets of human creativity. Rooted in the notion of unfiltered instinct, the collection refrains from the premeditated and embraces the raw essence of natural reactions, positioning human emotion as a fertile ground for design exploration. The collection bridges instinct and sophistication, presenting garments that embody unrestrained creativity and authentic expression.
FALL WINTER 2025.26 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
Romanticism shapes the collection, reimagined beyond its traditional form. It is stripped of sentimentality and reinterpreted as a celebration of heightened emotion and uninhibited passion. This romance takes shape as clothing that prioritizes spontaneity over rationality, abandoning calculated choices for the immediacy of human response. Within this framework, Prada and Simons uncover a kind of savage elegance, one that pairs emotional depth with refined craftsmanship. The tension between the deliberate and the instinctual produces pieces that are both intimate and daring.

The garments themselves embody a dialogue between protection and vulnerability. Shearling, a key feature of the collection, is reimagined as both a shield and a second skin, offering a tactile sense of security while retaining an air of sensuality. Knitwear punctuated by metallic amulets underscores this theme. These symbols, devoid of defined meaning, act as personal totems, evoking the universal human inclination toward objects of comfort and ritual.
Cinematic references subtly influence the collection, drawing on the shared lexicon of collective memory. Silhouettes and textures evoke a sense of familiarity, tapping into universal narratives that resonate on an instinctual level. The juxtaposition of rugged and refined materials creates an aesthetic tension that recalls filmic moments of vulnerability and strength.

The collection debuted on January 19th at Milan Fashion Week within a striking installation conceived by AMO. The venue, Fondazione Prada’s Deposito, was transformed into a dynamic interplay of contrasts. A stark industrial metal framework was juxtaposed against plush carpeting originally crafted by Catherine Martin, creating an environment that echoed the collection’s thematic tension. The spatial design invited attendees into an experience of shifting perspectives, where monumental structures met intimate details, mirroring the dualities within the collection itself.
