Ann Demeulemeester has released the third installment of KIDS, a visual diary project curated by the brand’s creative director, Stefano Gallici. The SS25 chapter takes inspiration from Los Angeles, a city that Gallici describes as his new creative haven. “Los Angeles is starting to feel like a new home for me,” Gallici says, highlighting the city’s unique combination of music, cinema, and street culture that aligns with his artistic vision.

The creative process behind KIDS reflects Gallici’s connection to LA’s vibrant atmosphere. He describes the city’s energy as “effortless” and notes how its dynamic setting naturally inspires his work. For Gallici, every return to Los Angeles brings a sense of familiarity, enabling him to tap into the city’s multifaceted artistic community. Through KIDS, he bridges the gap between fashion and art, showcasing how deeply intertwined these disciplines are within the cultural fabric of Los Angeles.

This chapter of KIDS introduces a lineup of contributors who embody the city’s diverse creative spirit. Among them are actress and singer Sophie Thatcher, producer and guitarist Chris Greatti, musician Dove Armitage, film archivist Bella Scaffidi, and musician-model Nico Geyer. Together, they represent the interconnected spheres of music, film, and fashion.

Gallici emphasizes that KIDS is about building a community rather than simply showcasing individual talent. Each contributor adds a layer of authenticity to the project, transforming it into a collective expression of LA’s creative pulse. “Los Angeles has always been at the heart of music, film, and fashion,” Gallici explains. The contributors’ artistic energy and dedication resonate deeply, creating a project that feels both organic and innovative.

A highlight of the shoot took place in the Hollywood Hills, where the team captured Sophie Thatcher amidst the serene golden light while playing Belle and Sebastian’s “The Boy with the Arab Strap.” Gallici recalls how the moment felt almost predestined, as though the project’s direction was set before it began.

Adding to its visual narrative, this edition of KIDS integrates video elements filmed on Super8. Longtime collaborator Jason Renaud joined Gallici to capture LA’s movement and texture, using the analog medium to reflect the city’s raw, imperfect charm. For Gallici, this chapter of is a continuation of his evolving dialogue with the Demeulemeester community. As he puts it, “LA is not just a location; it’s where I feel deeply connected to my creative identity.”
