DWARMIS presented its Spring Summer 2027 collection, AIRE, at The Standard East Village, during New York Fashion Week. Designer Dwarmis Concepción centers the season on the physical relationship between clothing and the body, using space, exposure and coverage as key parts of the design. BACKSTAGE
The title AIRE points to the room a garment creates around its wearer. Concepción works with that idea through silhouettes that allow the body to remain present within the clothes. Open sections create moments of exposure, and wrapped areas introduce coverage without fully enclosing the figure.
Material choices give the collection its changing rhythm. Lace and fluid fabrics produce lighter sections, while leather and firmer materials bring greater definition. Concepción uses these shifts to alter the way each garment sits against the body and to control the amount of structure within each look.
Several designs rely on cutaway construction and visible openings. Bare skin becomes part of the composition as fabric surrounds selected areas instead of covering the body uniformly. Open edges remain visible, and wrapped sections show how the garment takes shape around the wearer.
Sheer materials continue that approach. Transparency allows the figure to register through the fabric, giving skin an active role in the final silhouette. Texture then changes the surface of each piece and creates another layer of variation between lighter and more structured areas.
Concepción keeps the construction readable throughout the collection. The clothes show where fabric starts, stops, wraps and opens, allowing those decisions to define each look. The balance between exposed and covered areas gives AIRE its sense of sensuality without separating that quality from protection.
