Sneaker innovation meets toy design in the first wearable drop from the 2025 Nike x LEGO partnership

Nike and LEGO are linking up this summer with a full-scale collaboration, and the first wearable release arrives August 1. Priced at $155, the Nike Air Max Dn x LEGO is built for big kids and designed with performance in mind, while fully embracing the playful energy of LEGO through texture, print, and color.

The sneaker builds on Nike’s latest cushioning innovation: the Dynamic Air system. Two sets of dual-pressure tubes sit beneath the foot, with firmer air pressure at the heel and a softer zone at the midfoot. As kids move, air flows between the tubes to help with smoother steps and bounce-forward motion. The tooling is engineered for the pace and unpredictability of daily activity.

LEGO references show up across the design. The visible Air units house printed images of Max, Nike’s Air Max mascot, along with LEGO Minifigures – including a tiny alien that appears tucked inside one of the air pods. The mesh upper is shaped with a raised texture mimicking LEGO studs, giving the shoe a distinct surface that ties it visually to the brick format. Holographic accents on the midsole and a sharp colorway – Tour Yellow, Volt, Rush Red, and Black – give the sneaker its toy-like presence while maintaining a clear performance silhouette.

This Air Max drop is part of a broader partnership that includes footwear, buildable sets, and in-person activations. Earlier this summer, LEGO released a Nike Dunk set composed of over 1,100 pieces, featuring a functional lace-up system, storage compartments, and a Minifigure called “B’Ball Head.” A LEGO version of the Nike Dunk Low is also set to arrive September 1, along with apparel and accessories extending into the fall.

To engage kids beyond the product itself, Nike and LEGO are hosting branded sports events throughout the summer. These include a Play Arena at LEGOLAND California, a football-themed event in London, and the launch of a recycled-shoe playground in Shanghai. The global campaign ties into Nike’s plan to install 100 new Nike Grind courts across Greater China.

The Air Max Dn x LEGO is the first performance-focused shoe in the collaboration, translating the modular logic of LEGO into a visual language rather than literal attachment. The shoe keeps the foot secure with classic lacing, a foam midsole, and a durable rubber outsole designed for grip and impact protection. Matte overlays add contrast to the upper’s textured surface, rounding out a sneaker that’s equally built for movement and imaginative play.
